OCCU  -  02.12.2020

At OCCU, we are committed to enriching the lives of our members and our communities; and in 2020, we’re working to bring additional value to both. Recently, we launched Ignite Savings®, an account that pays higher interest on lower deposits to encourage new savers to get started.  We hope to help build healthy savings habits and prove that putting away even a small amount can make a difference. We also continue to bring enhancements to our online tools by adding new features, simplifying navigation and streamlining the process to make account management even easier.

But, it doesn’t stop with products. We are passionate about finding opportunities to support our members in other ways too. Whether that is sharing tips to help you reach your financial goals, supporting you through a challenge or celebrating a success, we want to be there in the moments that matter. We strive to give grace to our members and are working to lessen the burden when it comes to fees. In fact, we continue to build upon the work we started last year and recently eliminated the monthly service charge, non-qualification and temporary check fees from our checking accounts. We also eliminated the insufficient funds fee – we know things happen sometimes.

We are also enhancing the experience in our existing branch locations and, I’m excited to say, we are beginning the work to identify where we might add more branches to better serve our members inside and outside of Lane County. We plan to add at least one additional location to our branch network this year.

Being an active and engaged member of the community is embedded in the DNA of OCCU and in the year ahead we’ll continue our work to make a positive impact. Further development of the recently established OCCU Foundation continues to be a focus and we’re excited about the opportunities in front of us. We also encourage our employees to give of themselves to organizations they are passionate about and in fact, we allow them to do it during work hours. Don’t be surprised if you see our employees out and about as they volunteer, supporting the community organizations that provide critical services to our friends and neighbors.

At OCCU, we believe that we exist not only to support our members’ financial needs, but to enrich their lives and the lives of those around us. It’s the driving force behind everything we do. On behalf of the OCCU team, I’d like to say thank you for putting your trust in us.

With gratitude,

Ron Neumann
